Amanda Hill, assistant vice president for External Affairs and Marketing, Amanda Hill has been named as one of Philadelphia’s Forty Under 40 Rising Stars by City & State PA magazine.
The 2023 City and State Philly 40 Under 40 focuses on how young Philadelphians leverage their passion for the city to help shape its future.
“Amanda is an avid supporter of all things Philadelphia and has done a tremendous job positioning Peirce College in the market and building awareness with policy makers in Harrisburg and Washington,” said Dr. Mary Ellen Caro, president and CEO of Peirce College. “She plays a critical role ensuring the needs of working adults are kept at the forefront of higher education policy.”
Hill, who joined Peirce in 2012, has been a leading advocate for the College’s Career Bridge program, which helps underemployed Pennsylvanians earn the skills, certifications and credentials prepare for and find in-demand jobs that pay family-sustaining wages. Her work has helped bring in more than $4 million in grant funding for the institution.
She served on Governor Shapiro's Education and Workforce Transition Advisory Committee and is a recent graduate of the Pennsylvania Workforce Development Board Association's Policy and Advocacy Fellowship program. She currently serves on a several committees, including PA Chamber of Business and Industry's Higher Education Council; the Chamber of Commerce of Greater Philadelphia's Advocacy Network; the Main Line Chamber of Commerce's Government Affairs Committee; the Pennsylvania Workforce Development Board’s Career Pathways and Apprenticeship Committee; the Philadelphia Youth Network’s Communications and Development Committee; and the Marketing and Communications Committee of the African American Chamber of Commerce. In addition, she volunteers with the Germantown Community Fridge and the PHS City Harvest program.
Also during her tenure at Peirce, Hill established the College’s social media channels, evolved the institution’s marketing and lead generation efforts and developed the institution’s blog to increase organic traffic to the College website.
Prior to joining Peirce, she worked for the Montgomery County Intermediate Unit and Cargill Cocoa & Chocolate North America. She lives in the Germantown neighborhood of Philadelphia with her husband, son, and flock of chickens.
