Transfer Credit 101

The most common type of transfer credit for most students is credit earned at other regionally accredited colleges and universities.

Additional sources of transfer credit include credit-by-exam programs, professional and military training and professional certifications and licenses that have been evaluated for credit by the American Council on Education’s College Credit Recommendation Service.
