How to Apply for Financial Aid

Peirce College believes that every student should have the opportunity to attend the college that is best suited to their academic and personal needs, and financial aid can make that possible for many students. Most financial aid is awarded based on financial need, which is calculated using a formula established by the U.S. Department of Education. The key document required by the Department of Education is the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Please use the Federal School Code 003309 when completing your FAFSA. If you're interested in applying for federal and/or state financial assistance, start by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)

What Do I Need to Complete the FAFSA?

When completing the FAFSA, please make sure to enter your social security number exactly as it appears on your card. If you are an eligible non-citizen, you can enter your Alien Registration number instead.

To access Federal Student Aid websites, you and your spouse will need to create a Federal Student Aid ID (FSA ID). This FSA ID is a combination of a username and password which acts as your signature. You can create one easily and start using it right away here

If you are a dependent student, please note that in addition to providing your family’s financial information, one of your parents or guardians will need to sign your FAFSA. They can do this electronically with their own FSA ID.

Am I Eligible for Financial Aid?

Before applying for financial aid, you need to meet the following requirements:

- You must be admitted to the College in a degree-seeking program.

- You must be a United States citizen or an eligible non-citizen.

- You must maintain satisfactory academic progress.

- You must not be in default on a loan made under any Title IV HEA loan program or owe a repayment on any Title IV funds.

- You must be registered for the appropriate number of credits for the semester in which you are applying for financial aid.

- You must have a valid social security number or alien registration card.

What Happens When Peirce Receives My FAFSA?

If the Student Financial Services department needs additional information once your FAFSA has been received, we will contact you by email. If you are selected for a process called verification, you will be advised as to what documentation is needed.

Typically, when entering a new FAFSA filing year (meaning those applications completed after October 1 that are used for the following fall), Peirce College will notify students of any required documents around late April of that year.

Once your FAFSA has been reviewed and it has been determined that additional information is not required, you will receive an email about your financial aid awards, provided you have pre-registered for courses in the upcoming semesters.

If you have financial and/or academic holds on your account, this may prevent the Student Financial Services department from determining your eligibility.

Once you enroll at Peirce, you will gain access to our student portal. Included in the portal is PCFAST, the Peirce College Financial Aid Systems tool. This tool provides students with information about their financial aid awards and required documents, along with ways to learn more about being a responsible borrower.

Please review our financial aid forms below.

Deadlines & Renewal

Financial aid is not automatically renewed. You will receive an email reminder to renew your FAFSA at your Peirce College email address. Please review the Renewal Application, make any necessary updates, and submit the form as soon as possible, keeping all important deadlines in mind. Please note that Pennsylvania residents must file their FAFSA by May 1st each year to be considered for the state grant program. If you have any questions or need further information on how to apply for financial aid at Peirce College, please contact Student Financial Services.
