Women Business Leaders to Discuss Inclusion and Equity in Philly’s Workforce

Peirce College’s Eighth Annual Women in Leadership Panel Event Set for March 29

PHILADELPHIA, March 28, 2018 — As women across the country amplify their efforts to shatter workplace glass ceilings and normalize best practices in inclusion and equity, what impact could a more diverse workforce have among Philadelphia’s employers?

The role of diversity, inclusion and workforce equity will be key topics discussed at Peirce College’s Women in Leadership panel discussion. Held annually during Women’s History Month, the free event, which is open to the public, will be held on March 29th from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Peirce College, 1420 Pine St., Philadelphia.

Peirce has assembled a diverse panel of area executives representing a cross-sector of companies, backgrounds, and experiences.

“Diversity, inclusion and equity in the workforce are business imperatives supported by the most effective, forward-thinking organizations,” said Uva Coles, Vice President of Institutional Advancement and Strategic Partnerships. “We are excited to hear how some of our city’s top women in business are working to strengthen their organizations by leveraging their own diversity and promoting the power and value of inclusion.”

This year’s panel includes:

Folasade “Sade” Olanipekun-Lewis – As the Regional Director for Government and Airport Affairs with American Airlines, she is responsible for advancing business and other interests of American Airlines in Pennsylvania, Ohio, Kentucky and West Virginia.

Rochelle “Chellie” CameronCameron is the Chief Executive Officer for the Philadelphia International Airport and Northeast Philadelphia Airport, a large hub airport system serving over 30 million passengers annually. Cameron oversees the planning, development and administration of all activities for the City’s Division of Aviation.

Romona Riscoe BensonAs Director of PECO Corporate Relations, Riscoe Benson boasts more than 25-years of strategic leadership in the areas of marketing, community affairs, museum management and tourism promotion. She currently leads PECO’s corporate philanthropy and sponsorship programs, employee giving and volunteer activities, sports facility management programs and community engagement initiatives.

Dr. Monique Howard– The Executive Director of Women Organized Against Rape, Howard is a public health administrator with more than 15 years of experience in protecting and improving the health of women, families and communities. She currently leads WOAR's efforts to address the impact of sexual assault within the many diverse communities of Philadelphia.

Carol Wilson Pandza (Moderator)– The Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer for AmeriHealth Caritas, she oversees all of the company’s human resources functions including recruitment and onboarding, compensation and benefits, Human Resources information systems, talent management and organizational design, associate and leadership development, client services and associate relations, and diversity and inclusion.
