Peirce College seeks growth capital to address the tremendous social and economic disparities resulting from COVID-19.
According to a study by the Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce, there are 735,000 vulnerable jobs in Southeast PA. Those jobs with the lowest wages and the lowest educational degrees are at risk.
For every 10 employees laid off, 42% will experience permanent job loss (University of Chicago). It is not surprising that 61% of Hispanic households and 44% of African American households have experienced jobs loss, compared to 38% for white workers (Pew Charitable Trust).
