Peirce College recently participated in JetBlue's annual graduation ceremony in Florida to honor JetBlue Scholars who completed their bachelor’s degrees at Peirce.
Dr. Mary Ellen Caro, president and CEO of Peirce College, addressed graduates at the ceremony on Dec. 10 in Orlando and lauded both the graduates and their families for advancing their education while managing their careers.
“I am delighted to share this night with you on behalf of all my colleagues, who offer their best wishes and congratulations from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania,” she said. “Your stories are inspirational. Your dedication and grit are awesome. We are all so impressed by your accomplishments.”
The JetBlue Scholars program is an innovative model that goes beyond traditional tuition reimbursement programs to provide greater access and a lower-cost path to degree completion for JetBlue crewmembers who can learn at their own pace, maximize transfer credits and prior learning, and use high-quality alternative college credit options, including new technology-based learning platforms.
The innovative partnership between Peirce and JetBlue was launched in 2021 and allows crewmembers to complete their degree as efficiently and affordably as possible. It leverages low-cost course providers like Study.com to help students save money by applying credits for those courses aligned directly with their Peirce degree programs. The partnership also provides tuition discounts to spouses and dependents of JetBlue crewmembers for all undergraduate and graduate programs at Peirce.
Dr. Caro was joined at the ceremony by Dr. Rita Toliver-Roberts, vice president of Academic Affairs and Provost at Peirce, and Devon Vargason, academic advisor at Peirce, who met with this year’s graduates and shared information about the College’s graduate programs with JetBlue crewmembers and their families.
So far, more than 100 JetBlue Scholars have enrolled at Peirce and nearly 50 have already graduated with their bachelor’s degrees.
