Peirce College’s Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Administration curriculum is informed, in part, by the key competencies outlined by the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE).
These key competencies, organized by domain, include:
- Communication and Relationship Management
- Leadership
- Professionalism
- Knowledge of the Healthcare Environment
- Business Skills and Knowledge
The competencies were derived from job analysis surveys conducted by Healthcare Leadership Alliance associations. In addition to the American College of Healthcare Executives, members of the Healthcare Leadership Alliance are American Association of Physician Leadership, American Organization of Nurse Executives, Healthcare Financial Management Association, Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society and Medical Group Management Association.
The ACHE Healthcare Executive Competencies Assessment Tool is offered as an instrument for healthcare leaders to use in assessing their expertise in critical areas of healthcare management. View ACHE's healthcare leadership competencies.
This assessment tool can be used in several different ways to identify areas of strength and areas that may need professional skill development as well as formulating a development plan. Now is a great time to take inventory of your current skill set and develop a professional development plan.
