The Cherita Brown Memorial Scholarship Fund was established in 2020 through a generous donation from an anonymous member of the Peirce College community to honor Cherita Brown, who passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on September 3, 2019.
As the Associate Director of Student Financial Services, Cherita helped thousands of students achieve their academic goals. She worked in many different roles during her 25-year tenure at Peirce and considered her efforts the culmination of her career achievements. This fund honors Cherita's memory and legacy and continues her work to help students advance their education, their careers, and their lives.
The fund provides scholarships to Peirce College students who are nearing the completion of their degree and demonstrate academic success, financial need, personal integrity, and dedication to the advancement of others. Students who have completed at least 90 credits, maintain a GPA of 2.5 or higher, and who demonstrate financial need are eligible for the scholarship.
Cherita's selfless contributions to Peirce College, her community and her family set an exemplary high standard, one that we hope to honor with this scholarship.
