Steve DePasque Saved Time & Money with Peirce College & Study.com
In early 2019, Steve DePasque was working for a start-up company where he swore he would work forever. Then one day everything changed.
“The start-up company I was working for at the time got bought out and all of a sudden everything went downhill at once and I was laid off,” explained Steve. He started to evaluate his career goals and determine what to do next. Steve always had college in the back of his mind, and at the age of 35, he decided what better time than now to finally earn the degree he deserved.
Steve was living in Delaware County at the time and started searching online for a college focused on adults in the Philadelphia area. That is when Steve found Peirce College.
“I inquired around March of 2019 and Blake Scull called me right away. He told me everything about Peirce, how to get started, and he introduced the idea of Study.com.”
With Steve’s work history and experience, Blake identified Steve as a strong candidate to take part in Peirce’s new partnership with Study.com. Through this opportunity, Steve could expedite his degree completion process while saving money.
“When I heard of the opportunity to take some classes with Study.com, I was amazed! I had never heard of an option like this,” said Steve. “I am not a traditional learner and I never have been due to the traditional school structure. Thankfully, Peirce College and Study.com allow me to learn independently, on my own schedule, at my own pace, and it immediately worked for my non-traditional learning life.”
This flexibility has opened a lot of doors for Steve. As of April 2019, Steve began taking Study.com courses and then immediately started taking Peirce College classes in May 2019. Through both of these paths, in just six months, he has already earned over 55 credits. Steve has completed over 15 Study.com courses and is working to finish his fourth Peirce course. All credits from Study.com seamlessly transfer into Steve’s Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Administration degree.
“By working with Blake and now my Academic Advisor, I am able to successfully map out my degree completion path. I can decide which classes to take with Study.com and then which ones to take with Peirce, so I maximize my savings and time,” explained Steve.
Steve always knew he wanted to finish his degree, but wasn’t sure the best time. When all of a sudden, his career was put on hold, he found the drive and inspiration to chase his dreams. By discovering the partnership between Peirce College and Study.com, Steve was able to easily transition into a college environment that fit his life and feel empowered to keep going.
“Peirce College and Study.com gave me incredible amounts of hope and motivation. They took away the overwhelming concept of college and made me feel as though I had total control over my college career. The elimination of the overwhelming anxiety about returning to school and the independent school structure were the best offerings a school could provide to get someone like me to return to school.”
