Affordable Internet Service For All Peirce Students
Each and every day, here at Peirce College, we strive to make earning a degree an accessible opportunity for everyone looking to grow in their education. That is why we recently partnered with Comcast to offer students affordable internet access through the Internet Essentials program.
Peirce is the only institution in the Philadelphia region and the only four-year college in the nation to provide the following extraordinary benefits for students:
- Affordable internet access: internet at 15/2 Mbps speeds for $9.95 per month + tax, with no term contract or credit check, no activation or standard installation fees, and no monthly equipment rental charges
- Low-cost computer purchasing: may purchase a low-cost laptop or desktop for $149.99 + tax, that is equipped with Windows 10, Microsoft Office, and Norton Security
- WiFi Router & Hotspots: A free router is provided, as well as access to 40 one-hour passes to the Xfinity WiFi hotspot network every 30 days
- Digital literacy training: Free digital skills training is available in person, in print, or online, to help you better understand the internet and the many ways to use it
As digital access has presented an obstacle to enrollment and graduation for many, this partnership will ensure the College’s working adult learners have the tools they need to successfully complete their degree.
“Together, Peirce and Comcast are equipping our students with the support they need to succeed academically, professionally, and personally,” said Peirce College President and CEO James J. Mergiotti. “This partnership will eliminate many of the barriers to advancement experienced by our students and their families, allowing them to earn their degree, build their careers, and support their families for generations to come.”
In celebration of this new partnership and to officially launch the program, Peirce College will be holding an Internet Essentials event on Wednesday, September 20th in the College’s lobby from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. Peirce students will able to sign up immediately and get started with this new opportunity.
Additionally, all Peirce students who attend the event will be put into a drawing where 10 free laptops, courtesy of Comcast, will be given away! You won’t want to miss out.
