Highlights from the Peirce College Black History Month celebration
Earlier this month, the Peirce community gathered for a special event and panel discussion to celebrate Black History Month. Hosted by the Black History Month Committee, “Victory: A Celebration of African-American Achievements,” honored African-American leaders, educators, entrepreneurs, inventors, politicians, musicians, and performers.
The panelists were profound, insightful and inspirational. They shared stories of their journeys, which included their successes, obstacles, and people who guided them along the way. Displays were set up to celebrate African-American culture, representing everything from African-American literature, dance, performing arts, dolls, hair care and beauty, and Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU’s), to famous athletes and President Obama.
As the celebration of Black History Month comes to a close, I wanted to take a moment to share some photos and highlights from the wonderful event. A special thank you to all of our panelists and the Black History Month Committee for putting together such a great celebration!
